My visit to Paws with a Cause and meeting Houdini went very well. This picture is of him giving me an object he retrieved. He is the same size as Ivy was. He is happy, laid back, likes attention, and doing his tasks. He should be ready to come home in May. Then our field rep will be coming once a week to work with us. We will then take the test to become a certified team after approximately 6 months of in home and community training.
I will be meeting my successor service dog, Houdini, next week on Wednesday, February 24th. He is a male black Lab. He is currently in training at Paws with a Cause in Michigan. I am very excited to be meeting my new service dog!
I have had Cerebral Palsy since birth, but I try to live life to the fullest, and not let it slow me down. I have had a horse starting at age 5 for therapuetic riding and fun. I am getting ready to meet my successor service dog from Paws with a Cause soon. He is a black Lab. My first service dog from Paws, Ivy, passed away from cancer in June of 2009. She was a Golden Retriever who was nearly 12 years old.
